Volunteering with REVISE

REVISE provides exciting opportunities for:

  • Retired teachers and education workers to experience living on a remote property and helping children learn.
  • Skilled energetic people to continue to use their expertise and share interests in unique situations.
  • Caring people to support families who really appreciate REVISE volunteers sharing the development of their children's experiences
  • Participation in the delivery of distance learning via interactive satellite communication.
  • Involvement in local community events while on placement, such as outback gymkhanas, race meetings and fund raising functions for entities such as the Royal Flying Doctor Service.
  • REVISE volunteers to pursue specific personal interests such as local history, geology, ornithology and the like.
  • Ongoing professional development as a member of the REVISE team, through regular get-togethers and other developmental opportunities.

Volunteers need to be:

  • Reasonably fit.
  • Self motivated and resilient.
  • Prepared to meet the challenge of travelling to and living on outback properties for a period of two or three weeks.

Accommodation and meals are provided by the host families and REVISE makes a contribution to travel expenses.
